Foriegn Exchange Remittance Card (FERC)
Government of Pakistan has introduced incentives for Overseas Pakistanis, who remit foreign exchange, through banking channels to Pakistan. Categories of Cards alongwith amount of Remittance and incentives (duty credit at airports) are given below

Requirements for Foreign Exchange Remittance Card (FERC)
  • Bank Remittance Book and Application forms which can be obtained from the Community Welfare Section of Consulate General of Pakistan, NewYork.
  • Photocopies of first two pages of valid Passport, CNIC or NICOP or POC
  • Photocopy of valid visa.
  • Two colored photographs (1x1 inch)
  • Overseas Pakistanis are required to show original Bank Receipts (Vouchers) regarding remittance of foreign exchange to Pakistan to the official of Community Welfare Section of the Consulate General of Pakistan, New York.
Collection of Foreign Exchange Remittance Card (FERC)
After verification of Bank Receipts/vouchers and attestation of entries in the Remittance Book, applications alongwith above mentioned papers are sent to Overseas Pakistanis Foundation, Islamabad. The applicant can receive his/her FER Card from the Community Welfare Section of the Consulate General of Pakistan, New York. The validity period of Remittance Card is one year from the date of issue and card holders are entitled to avail the incentives till the expiry date
Benefits of Foreign Exchange Remittance Card (FERC)
  • Separate counters for special handling at arrival and departures lounges at International Airports.
  • Free issuance and renewal of passport on an urgent basis. The incentives are available for one year from the date of issuance of Remittance Card.
  • The duty credit as specified in the table shall be admissible to a Pakistani national holding foreign Exchange Remittance Card (FERC) once during validity of the Card. The duty credit can also be utilized for the unaccompanied baggage or any purchase from one of the duty free shops.
